One of the hardest parts of moving was leaving our precious little home in Torrance. I spent the greater part of the year making it a home and loved every part of it. From the old windowsills to the fun little kitchen, the house has a charm of its own that was easy for me to adorn.

And although our little home will be greatly missed, I take with me the memories and look forward to more ventures and more little (and big) houses to decorate.

Holiday DIYness

Between moving, work and baby madness I haven't had much of a chance to decorate this Holiday season but I've managed to squeeze in a little creativity and even put up my version of a Christmas tree...

A couple weekends ago I spent an entire Sunday experimenting with felting (on which I was instantly hooked) and I made some Christmas ornaments for my little tree. I tied 3 sparkly branches together and stuck them in a tin bucket adorned with pine cones and voila, my tree was done. I wish I had more time to add a garland but oh well, there's always next year!

Even gifting is taking a back seat this year which is a bit more depressing since I enjoy wrapping so damn much so instead I will recycle a post I did for Pacsun Community last year on eco-friendly wrapping. I think this year if I was to wrap more presents I would definitely use felted balls and string. Clearly, it's a felted kind of Christmas.

And speaking of my new addiction, here is a Matryoshka doll I made for my friend. More to come!

Scored this tee from the beau and these leggings from the sample sale. I kind of love both.

I got this leather jacket from downtown L.A. last year and I've definitely gotten some use out of it. I hope the trend never dies.

Happy Weekend!

Akiko's Closet: Trouser Up

I'm officially naming my outfit section after my former Pacsun Style Section: Akiko's Closet. I always knew I would be using that title somehow...

I got this sweater and trousers at the sample sale last weekend and I'm liking. I'm a huge fan of fair isle and this sweater kind of reminds me of that plus I'm a sucker for large buttons. The trousers from Roxy are super comfortable & versatile.

I'm loving the whole tights and shorts look right now since California has the perfect Fall weather for this. I just bought a bunch of denim shorts at the sample sale that I'm eager to pair up with some tights. These printed ones from Hurley will last me through spring and into summer perfectly.

And there is the little Koji bear doing what Koji bear does best...be amazingly cute. We never take this hat off him.

Inspiration: My Little Sunshine Baby Shower

Monday, November 8, 2010

We're trying to settle on a logo design so we can finally launch our site for our event planning company: Bonbons. The goal is to get it up by the end of the year at least since we do have enough party portfolio content to start.

Here is the inspiration board for the baby shower that I posted last week. The main idea came from the "Little Sunshine" sign that the mommy-to-be loved. We also took elements from her nursery decor inspiration as well as the beachy venue where it was held.

I'm hoping to get the next party pics up by this week! In the meantime I actually have an outfit to post. Wow.

Happy Halloween.

I really want to start putting up outfit posts like I've wanted to forever but it's so hard with the little monster but cross my fingers that soon I can.

Spooky pics and our Halloween family photo complete with two of my favorite things: Koji and Llamas.

p.s. Painting pumpkins is hard.

Now that the baby is actually here, I don't see the point of nurseries since I do believe Kojiro will be spending the greater part of his first year in our room. By the time he turns 1 this may see a little too baby-ish?? Who knows. We did, however, have fun putting the room together. The only downer is that we were not allowed to paint the walls which would've made the room. Oh well...can't wait for toddler room decorating time!
